This policy explains what information LiftChin collects when you use liftchin.com – the quiz, the plan page, checkout and the member area – why, where it is kept and what you can do about it. We have tried to write it plainly.
The quiz asks about your age range, your goal, how the area under your chin looks and feels, everyday habits (sleep, stress, salty food, late meals, alcohol, screen time) and whether any of these apply to you: recent filler, Botox, a thread lift or injections, facial or neck surgery, jaw pain or TMJ, neck pain or injury, a thyroid or lymphatic condition.
Some of these answers are information about your health. They are stored only in your browser (in its local and session storage) so that the plan page can show your age range and focus and remind you which moves to take gently. They are not sent to our servers. You can delete them at any time by clearing your browser’s site data for liftchin.com. The plan page stops using them after 30 days.
At the end of the quiz we ask for your e-mail address. We use it to send you your plan and messages about your purchase and account. We will only send you marketing e-mails if you have agreed to them, and every such e-mail has an unsubscribe link. Our e-mails are sent through [EMAIL PROVIDER].
When you buy a plan we collect your name, e-mail address, the plan you chose and billing details. Payments are processed by Stripe (see Stripe’s privacy policy), which also converts the price into your local currency. Your card number goes directly to Stripe; we never see or store it. We keep records of your purchases because tax and accounting law requires it.
To give you access to the member area we keep your account details (name, e-mail address, password in encrypted form) and which plan you have.
Inside the member area, the first name you give, the days you have completed, your streaks and seals, and your diary entries (how your face felt, morning puffiness, what you noticed, and whether you had a salty dinner, ate late, had a drink or slept badly) are stored in your browser on your device. They are not sent to our servers, which also means they do not follow you to another device, and clearing your browser’s site data deletes them. If we later offer syncing across devices, we will update this policy and tell you before any of it leaves your device.
The exercise films are streamed from our website.
Like every website, ours receives technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you open and the time. Our host keeps this in server logs, and our security plugin (Wordfence) uses it to block attacks and abuse.
Needed for the site to work. These are always on, because the site cannot do what you asked without them.
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Login and account cookies (WordPress) | Keep you signed in to the member area | Until you sign out, or up to 14 days |
| Shop session cookies (WooCommerce) | Remember your plan choice through checkout | The session, or up to 2 days |
| Security cookies (Wordfence) | Protect the site and your account | Up to 1 year |
| Browser storage: quiz answers | Show your answers on the plan page | Until cleared; ignored after 30 days |
| Browser storage: member area | Your progress, diary and settings | Until you clear it |
| Browser storage: your cookie choices | Remember what you chose under Privacy choices | Until you clear it |
| Browser storage: your country | The country in the link you arrived by, so we apply the right cookie rules for where you are | 30 days |
Analytics and advertising. These are optional:
| Tool | What it does | Cookies, how long |
|---|---|---|
| Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation) | Records how pages are used – clicks, scrolling, page views, device and browser – as heatmaps and session replays, so we can improve the site | _clck up to 1 year; _clsk 1 day |
| Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms) | Tells Meta when someone who saw our ads on Facebook or Instagram visits, finishes the quiz, views the plans, starts checkout or buys, so we can measure and improve our ads and reach similar people | _fbp and _fbc up to 90 days |
When they run. If you are in the EU, the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, they do not run at all. Everywhere else they run unless you switch them off. You can change your mind at any time with the Privacy choices link at the foot of every page; turning a tool off also deletes its cookies on our site. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, Meta Pixel stays off.
What they never get. Meta only receives the name of each step (for example “Lead” when you finish the quiz, and the price and currency when you start checkout), never your quiz answers or your e-mail address. The quiz’s health question, and any screen that repeats your answers to it, are hidden from Clarity’s recordings, and Clarity automatically hides what you type into form fields. Neither tool runs in the member area, and Clarity does not run on the checkout or account pages.
Meta and Microsoft receive your IP address and information about your device and browser, and may combine it with what they already know about you under their own policies: Meta’s privacy policy, Microsoft’s privacy statement.
The quiz loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers and Google receives your IP address. See Google’s privacy policy.
We do not sell or rent your personal data for money. We share it only with these companies, under contracts that require them to protect it:
We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety.
Some of these providers may process data outside your country, including in the European Union and the United States. Where data leaves the European Economic Area or the UK, the transfer is covered by an adequacy decision (for Meta and Microsoft in the United States, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and its UK extension) or by Standard Contractual Clauses (with the UK Addendum for UK data).
You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict it, or send it to you or another service in a portable format. You can object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and withdraw consent at any time. Write to contact@liftchin.com; we answer within one month.
You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority: in the EU, ours is the State Data Protection Inspectorate of Lithuania (vdai.lrv.lt) and you can also complain in the country where you live; in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk); in Australia, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au). We would appreciate the chance to put things right first, so please write to us too.
Depending on the state you live in (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia or Texas), you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you and how we use it, to get a copy of it, to have it corrected or deleted, and to opt out of its sale, of its sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising, of targeted advertising and of profiling. To use any of these rights, e-mail contact@liftchin.com. We will confirm your identity using the e-mail address on your account, you may use an authorised agent, and we will not treat you differently for using your rights. If we turn down a request, you can appeal by replying to our answer.
What we collect, in the categories US state laws use: identifiers (name, e-mail address, IP address, cookie and device identifiers), commercial information (the plans you buy) and internet activity on our site (pages visited, clicks, server and security logs), for the purposes described in section 1.
Advertising and your right to opt out. We do not sell your personal information for money. But using Meta Pixel means identifiers and internet activity on our site go to Meta for advertising, which some state laws count as “selling” or “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising, or as targeted advertising. You can opt out at any time: use Privacy choices at the foot of any page and switch off Advertising, or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser, which we treat as an opt-out. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
Health-related answers. The quiz questions about health (see section 1) stay in your browser and are not collected by us or given to Meta or Microsoft, so we do not collect, share or sell consumer health data.
LiftChin is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
LiftChin is for adults. You must be 18 or over to use it, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger.
LiftChin is run by Proudof, MB, a small partnership (MB) registered in Lithuania under company code 308158749, registered address Giedraičių g. 39-R53, LT-09302 Vilnius, Lithuania (“LiftChin”, “we”, “us”). We are the controller of the personal data described here.
Contact for anything in this policy: contact@liftchin.com.
The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), a security firewall and encrypted passwords, and access to our systems is limited to the people who need it. No system is completely secure; if a breach ever affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and tell you by e-mail if the change is significant.
